The Oils in Our Soap
Avocado Oil provides deep hydration and has powerful anti-inflammatory properties that soothe and nourish your skin.
Castor Oil works effectively to soften even the driest skin, leaving it feeling smooth and supple.
Coconut Oil not only deeply hydrates your skin but also helps reduce inflammation, promoting a healthier complexion. PLUS: it contributes to the rich, luscious lathers found in our soaps, enhancing your bathing experience.
Olive Oil is packed with antioxidants that combat free radicals responsible for early aging, and it also soothes irritated or sensitive skin.
Palm Oil is full of essential vitamins A and K, which play a crucial role in skin regeneration, while also helping to stabilize the luxurious lather of our soaps.
Shea Butter supports the skin’s natural healing process from past damage while providing deep, lasting hydration.
Activated Charcoal and Kaolin Clay
We use activated charcoal in some of our soaps. It brings a distinctive, rich color to our Tea Tree and Myrrh bar. Beyond its beautiful hue, the charcoal also helps to effectively absorb excess oil and impurities from your skin, leaving you feeling fresh and clean. Additionally, we also use activated charcoal as a natural colorant in several of our carefully crafted soap. Alongside this, we incorporate kaolin clay, a gentle yet effective natural cleanser and exfoliant, known for its soothing properties and ability to refresh your skin without irritation.
About the Maker
The idea that someone could take some oils or fats and carefully combine them with a salt and a liquid, wait patiently for the chemical magic to happen, and end up with a fresh batch of soap had long fascinated me. I have always enjoyed the rewarding challenge of creating from scratch something useful that I rely on every single day, so it was only natural that I had to make my very first batch of soap.
Once I succeeded, I thought I could move on to my next curiosity or fascination – or so I believed!
I crafted that initial batch on a cold and rainy December night – and right from the start, I found myself absolutely hooked on the entire process. The rest, as they say, is history. At first, my goal was simply to make soap and other natural body care products for my own household. But soon, the desire to share my lovingly handmade products with everyone else became irresistible. Luscious Lathers Soaps has proudly been in business since 2010. We continue to make all of our products by hand, carefully producing them in small batches to ensure quality. We make every effort to source our raw ingredients as locally as possible, right here near our Emeryville, California base. Plus, we never use any ingredients that our great-grandmothers wouldn’t recognize or have used themselves.
