Meet the Soap Maker

Welcome to Luscious Lathers Soaps! My name is M. Alabi, but most people call me ‘The Soap Lady’. I started soap making 16 years ago because the whole process intrigued me. I was fascinated by how you can mix oils or fats with liquid and salt to create soap.

One chilly winter evening, I decided to try it, and let’s just say I’ve been hooked ever since. I loved the process. I loved making something from scratch. I loved making something that was useful and healthy for me in my everyday life.

It didn’t take long before my passion for using clean ingredients in this way began to grow. I launched Luscious Lathers Soaps LLC in 2010, and today we offer body care products in addition to our soap line.

Every single ingredient that we use in our products is carefully considered and thoughtfully selected. We make every product in small batches to ensure the highest quality for your skin. To Lucsious Lathers, our skin is a valuable and beautiful part of our bodies, and we believe that everyone deserves to love their skin.

Ingredients We Love

Natural Oils

We use avocado, castor, coconut, olive, and sustainable palm oils to enjoy such benefits as reducing inflammation, anti-aging properties, and rich vitamins and nutrients that hydrate your skin.

Activated Charcoal

We use activated charcoal in select products to help absorb oil and impurities from your skin. We’ll also carefully add it to products to provide a natural, distinctive colorant.

Shea Butter

We create our shea butter creams with raw shea butter for deep, lasting hydration that can help support the skin’s natural healing process from daily damage.

Kaolin Clay

We incorporate kaolin clay into select products for its smoothing properties. It adds a gentle exfoliant that helps cleanse and refresh your skin without irritation.

That’s an excellent question! We make our soaps with these 100% vegetable oils: avocado, castor, coconut, olive, and sustainable palm oils, and shea butter. We chose these oils for the specific qualities they bring to soap making and skin care. Avocado and castor oils help provide deep skin moisturizing without clogging skin pores. They both have anti-aging properties, and they also promote wound healing. Coconut oil is anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial, and it is a key ingredient in making luxurious luscious soap lather! Olive oil has been used to make soap for millennia. It helps regenerate your skin, and can ease irritated skin. Palm oil helps protect against environmental stressors and it helps make our soap bars harder so that they last longer. Shea Butter is rich in Vitamins A and E, and is a source of deep moisturizing for your skin. All our soaps are vegan.
Yes! Luscious Lathers Soaps bar and soft soaps are safe to use on your entire body. Our bar soaps are made with avocado, castor, coconut, olive, and palm oils, as well as shea butter. Our soft soaps are made with avocado, castor, coconut and olive oils. We chose these oils and butters specifically for their skin loving properties and for the way they contribute to making a good bar–or bottle–of soap.
We’re soap makers,not doctors. So, we don’t give medical advice, however, some of our customers who have skin issues have used our fragrance-free soap and like the results. Our fragrance-free soap is also made with hemp seed oil, which is noted for helping to hydrate the skin, as well as its anti-inflammatory properties. So, whether you’re a customer that’s looking to relieve certain skin conditions or you just don’t like fragrance in your soap, we think our fragrance-free bar is what you’re looking for.
Great question! The lifespan of your soap bars depends on several factors: how often you bathe, how many people use the same bar, and how much soap you use each time. Our Luscious Lathers Soaps are made without commercial hardeners, so each bar stays soft and can be reshaped and used until it’s completely gone. You won’t have to worry about tiny pieces breaking off and clogging your drain! For best results, store your soap in a draining dish, away from heat and direct sunlight.
